Using Our Products

Thank you for supporting Ridge Light Ranch SM. You can find our Terms of Use at https://ridgelightranch.com/terms-of-use/ (The first half is about using our website and then it talks about using our products.)

Please note that the permissions for our video courses on Teachable have slightly different permissions.

Multi-User Permissions

Many of our loyal customers have requested a way to share electronic copies of our files with their co-workers and contractors. In April of 2019, we changed our terms of use to allow for this with single-user and multi-user permissions of electronic copies of our files (more details below)!

A “User” is typically a parent or a teacher with 10 or fewer students. If you have more than 10 students, please purchase a license for each block of 10 students. (Near the bottom of this page is an example.)

“Handouts” are the portion of the digital file that is designed to be distributed to students. Students can take handouts home and keep them indefinitely. Each digital file suggests which pages to print for each student- those are the handouts. You may NOT print the entire digital file and call it a handout.

If there’s not an option to purchase a file with a multi-user permission, then that file is currently only available with a single-user permission. Multi-user permissions are typically available for products that are often used in a classroom, for example, lesson plans and posters. If a product is only available with single-user permission and you’re interested in purchasing it with a multi-user permission, please contact us at admin@ridgelightranch.com.

In an effort to make our terms easy to understand and comply with, I’ve listed some FAQs here. If you have any specific questions about the use of this item, please just email me us admin@ridgelightranch.com. Thank you so much for helping me protect my intellectual property.

  • Single User (and up to 10 students): an individual license to be used by one family or one teacher with 10 or fewer students. Whole files may not be shared digitally or on paper. Printed handouts may be distributed to students.
  • 2-4 Users (and up to 40 students): a group license to be shared by 2-4 teachers working together in a group/school with 40 or fewer students. Digital files may be shared between teachers but not distributed to students. Printed handouts may be distributed to students.
  • 5-10 Users (and up to 100 students): a group license to be shared by 5-10 teachers working together in a group/school with 100 or fewer students. Digital files may be shared between teachers but not distributed to students. Printed handouts may be distributed to students.

I downloaded a free file from you. Can I email that to my friend, since it was free anyway?

  • Nope! You may print this file as many times as you’d like for your own personal and classroom (of 10 or fewer students) use. Only handouts (as defined above) should be distributed to students

Are the electronic files and the printout of the electronic file treated differently?

  • They are not treated differently. (In past years we structured our Terms of Use differently and the printed and electronic files were treated differently, However, under this “user permission” system, they are the same.)
  • Handouts are treated differently as explained the the definition above.

I’m happy to help you figure out if your use is allowed under our Terms Of Use. Just email me and tell me what you have in mind:  admin@ridgelightranch.com. Thank you so much for helping me protect my intellectual property.
