Art Classes at Unhindered Learning in Tucson
I’m teaching two art classes at Unhindered Learning, a local homeschool co-op, directed by Serena Scofield. Unhindered Learning has many different types of ร la carte classes for homeschool families. Here are the two I’ll be teaching:
Anyone Can Learn to Draw: Mondays at 9am
This course is designed for students who want to build and strengthen their drawing skills. Drawing is such an important component of education; It is the foundation of all other art forms and an important skill for many subjects beyond art! Students will learn how to see the world like an artist, practice techniques for drawing faster and more accurately, and complete a progression of activities to improve their skills. Weโll be working in graphite (pencil) on standard drawing/printer paper. This course emphasizes the basics and builds confidence, making it a great choice for beginners or those wanting to improve.
Anyone Can Learn Colored Pencil: Mondays at 10am
This class introduces students to colored pencil drawing and teaches them how to build rich color through layering, blending, and careful observation. Over 14 weeks students will learn how to control pencil pressure, layer colors, blend smoothly, create textures, and render realistic subjects such as fruit, animals, and natural objects. Students will complete several finished drawings while learning techniques they can use in their own artwork. Students should already be comfortable with basic drawing, or be willing to trace their base drawing before class so they can focus on learning colored pencil techniques.

Art Parties in Tucson
We also hold art parties, where we bring the art to you!
All Ages are Welcome!
We don’t have a specific minimum age for art camps or art classes. Instead, we find that a student’s interest and passion for art, tend to be more important than their age. Even children as young as first grade can create great pieces if they have a passion for art! Consider how much your child wants to do art and if their attention span will hold while they are here.
