Watercolor Commission

Description

This custom watercolor painting will be a keepsake for years to come! It will be painted on traditional watercolor paper using a mix of watercolor paint, gouache watercolor paint, and watercolor pencils.

First, decide what you’d like painted! BEFORE you’ve purchased this item, I suggest you email me (Julie at RidgeLightRanch.com) so we can discuss what you’re looking for. Here are some of the questions I’ll be asking you:

• What do you want to be painted?
• What size would you like the painting to be?
• Where will the painting be displayed?
• What color frame and mat will you use?
• Are there any special details you’d like included in the artwork?
• Where would you like the artwork to be mailed to?

Sizing

Now that you know what subject you’d like, decide on a size. The size ordered corresponds to the size of the paper. The image will be painted slightly smaller to allow for a matting margin. If you’re looking for a different size, let me know!

• Notecard: 4″ x 6″ glued to a 5×7 card base
• Small: 4″ x 6″ (looks nice with a mat in a 5×7 frame)
• Medium: 6″ x 8″ (looks nice with a mat in an 8×10 frame)
• Large: 9″ x 12″ (looks nice with a mat in an 11×14 frame)
• X-Large: 10″ x 14″ (looks nice with a mat in a 12×16 frame)

Matting and Framing

I can mat and frame the artwork or you can do it yourself.

If you’re framing the artwork yourself, I suggest using a coupon at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby has great prices on archival grade custom mats!

If I’m framing and/or matting the artwork, I’ll use an archival mat and a standard off-the-shelf frame. (Keep in mind that standard, off-the-shelf frames typically do not have UV glass in them. So, if you hang the artwork where it will see the direct sun, it may fade slowly over time.)

If I need to ship the artwork, I cannot offer free shipping on art with frames. Since they include glass, they are very fragile and costly to ship. However, I can still have the art matted and the mat cut to fit a standard size frame. Then you can pick out a frame at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Standard Frame sizes tend to be 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, 12×16, and on up.

Backorder? When will this artwork be completed?

The status of all my commission items is “backorder” because I don’t have a way to schedule commission work on this platform. Generally, I create each work of art in the sequence it is ordered and your ‘place in line’ is set when you pay for your item. I have to limit the number of commissions I can take each week, so if you need the item by a certain date, be sure to contact me ahead of time to find out if that’s possible!
