Before you purchase this item, private message or email me (Julie at RidgeLightRanch.com) what you’re looking for and we’ll talk about what that might look like. I’ll design the layout, draw it all out, and wood burn it on to a rectangular basswood plaque.
Woodburning, or pyrography, gives a long-lasting image and a subtle texture to the artwork. Each piece is unique, not only due to the unique wood plank with naturally preserved bark but also because each drawing is an original.
Picking a Size
Rectangular Plaques vary in size and shape. They are sold according to the cut length of the piece, not the bark-to-bark width (see photo example). Here are the approximate sizes:
- Small: 8″ (usually x 5-8″)
- Medium: 11″ (usually x 7-9″)
- Large: 13″ (usually x 9-11″)
- X-Large: 16″ (usually x 11-13″)
- Elongated: 23″ (usually x 8-10″)
The plaques are usually 0.5″ – 1″ thick.
Please know that I typically only take 1 commission per week. Generally, your ‘place in line’ is set when you pay for your item. If you’d like to pay half upfront and half upon completion, please contact me and I’ll arrange for that.
Purchasing a work of art does not usually include reproduction rights, or a license to print copies of the artwork. As the artist, Julie Abels maintains the right to make additional copies of the artwork. If you would like reproduction rights, please email Julie about creating a contract to include reproduction rights.
