Custom Commission- Wood Burned Oval Plaque

This oval basswood plaque will be hand-drawn and wood-burned with the words/subject of your choice.

Woodburning, or pyrography, gives a long-lasting image and a subtle texture to the artwork. Each piece is unique, not only due to the unique wood plank with naturally preserved bark but also because each drawing is an original. Remember to keep your plaque in a cool dry place to prevent the wood from cracking with changes in humidity!

Picking a Size

Oval Plaques vary in size and shape. They are sold according to the smallest diameter (see photo example). Here are the approximate sizes:

• Small: 5-7″ (usually x 7-10″)
• Medium: 7-9″ (usually x 12-13″)
• Large: 9-11″ (usually x 13-15″)
• X-Large: 11-13″ (usually x >15″)
• Elongated: 11-13″ (usually x 25-30″)

The plaques are usually 0.5″ – 1″ thick.

Backorder? When will this artwork be completed?

The status of all my commission items is “backorder” because I don’t have a way to schedule commission work on this platform. Generally, I create each work of art in the sequence it is ordered and your ‘place in line’ is set when you pay for your item. I have to limit the number of commissions I can take each week, so if you need the item by a certain date, be sure to contact me ahead of time to find out if that’s possible!
