Step into your journey as an artist with confidence! This class will guide you from following step-by-step projects to creating whatever inspires you—while learning alongside a supportive group of fellow watercolor lovers.

Join other women, men, & teens for a 3-session course: “Intro to Watercolor, Part 1,” where we master basic skills and build on our progress each month. This will be more skills/instruction-oriented than a painting party, but we’ll still have fun painting together. (I hope to have a few of these courses going forward, so we can cover my full introductory watercolor curriculum.)

Each month we’ll have one, 2-hour class together. I will present a specific area of Watercolor instruction and have students work on specific exercises. Then you’ll work on a project you brought with you or the project I suggest to give more practices on the skills just learned.

  • Where: Ina and Oracle: Pinspiration of Tucson (7090 N Oracle Rd #194, Tucson, AZ 85704)
  • Time: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm (please arrive 10-15 min early to set up your supplies, so we can start promptly at 2!)

We’ll meet the 3rd Tuesday of the next 3 months. This is our tentative curriculum, but it’s subject to change based on students’ experience level:

  • Sep. 16, 2025: Brush Work (learn about different brushes and practice specific brush markings. Project: Hand-lettering with flowers and leaves)
  • Oct. 21, 2025: Layering with Transparency (learn about paint characteristics, practice glazing. Project: Circles with overlap)
  • Nov. 18, 2025: Water Control: Practicing wet on wet painting, controlling blooms and back runs. Project: Landscape with fading trees)

Supply List

You’ll need to own your own watercolor supplies and you’ll need to bring them to class with you. This will allow you to practice at home between classes. If you don’t already own your own supplies, you can purchase them for $40-55 (depending on your paper choice). and they’ll last you quite a while! Paper is really the main thing that you’ll want to rebuy and that will depend on how much practicing you do.

Check out my recommendations here: Watercolor Supplies. If you’re looking for an easy button, you can see links to my top recommendations all on one Amazon list as well. I’m considering a bulk order of supplies- let me know if you’re interested!

If you don’t want to mess with Amazon and splitting larger packs with friends, you can purchase a pre-assembled watercolor kit from me.

Course Size

We plan to limit this course to 12 students to allow for plenty of individual attention. If fewer than 8 students register, the course may be canceled (in which case all fees would be returned). Once the max is reached, contact me to be put on the wait list.

Be sure to check out our 1 week cancelation policy too!

ESA Families

For teens with ESA, Here’s my MBA diploma if you’d like to use it for reimbursement.
