Art Class at SAAG: Anyone Can Learn To Draw Flowers April 17th, 2:30pm

Description

This event has past, but check out our other great Tucson events here!

Parents/guardians of teens taking classes at SAAG must fill out a SAAG Waiver and bring it to class!

Do you wish you felt confident drawing flowers? Drawing is the foundation of all art, yet most of us were never actually taught how to do it. In this class, you’ll learn practical techniques that make drawing feel approachable and achievable.

• Where: Southern Arizona Art Guild (SAAG) Gallery: 1745 E River Road, Tucson, AZ 85718
• Date: Friday April 17, 2026
• Time: 2:30-4:30pm (2 Hours)

We’ll begin with a few simple ideas that improve every artist’s drawing: mindset, the hand-eye connection, and practical tips that help you see shapes more clearly. Then you’ll learn one of the most powerful tools artists use—breaking complex subjects into simple shapes.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the details of petals and leaves, you’ll learn how to recognize the basic forms that make up flowers. Once you understand this process, you can sketch roses, daisies, and many other blooms with surprising ease.

This class is perfect for beginners who want clear instruction, as well as artists who already draw but want to strengthen their foundational skills. By the end of the class, you’ll not only have drawn several flowers, but you’ll also have a technique you can use to draw almost anything.

All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your favorite drawing supplies if you prefer. Come ready to learn, practice, and discover that anyone really can learn to draw.
